Glossary

Rake

It's a percentage of the pot (or of a tourney buy-in) taken by the poker room as a fee for hosting the game.
In Poker Tracker it's the "My Currency Fee" statistic; in Holdem Manager it's "Rake".

Rakeback

"Rakeback" is a poker incentive where a portion of the rake paid by a player is refunded, either as cash or rewards, typically used to encourage player loyalty and increase game volume.

Initial bonus

It's a promotional offer given to new players by online poker sites, typically providing one time extra funds or rewards upon their first deposit or registration.
It's usually called "welcome", "registration" or "first deposit" bonus.

Poker bonus

It's a reward offered by poker sites, typically in the form of extra funds, credits, or tournament entries, given to players for actions like signing up, depositing, or playing regularly.

Bonus chunks

Portions of a poker bonus that are released incrementally as a player meets specific requirements, such as paying a set amount of rake, rather than being awarded all at once.

Bonus multiplier

The amount of rake a player must generate to earn $1 of bonus money. For example, a 5x multiplier means $5 in rake is needed to unlock $1 of the bonus.
